The 2005-2007 Sportage chosen as the Best Used Kia Compact SUV!

Friday, January 22, 2010

Gatorland Kia, the premier dealership selling new and used cars in Gainesville, is proud that Autotropolis (a leading resource on new and used car research) has chosen The 2005 - 2007 Sportage as the best used Kia Compact SUV. The original Sportage, which was launched in 1995, was distinctive amongst small sport-utility vehicles because it made use of a full truck frame instead of a car platform and hence provided powerful off-road performance that most competitors could not match.

However, the 2005 - 2007 model was given a complete makeover by the Korean auto giant and shifted to the more popular, sedan-style platform. This model is a great vehicle available at a great price. The 2005 - 2007 Kia base model Sportage is equipped with a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine that generates 140 horsepower and 136 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to either the front or all four wheels through a 5-speed manual or available 4-speed automatic transmission. There are upgraded trim levels available as well. The best fuel mileage is in the front-wheel drive, 4-cylinder edition of the Sportage, which gets an impressive 22 mpg in city and 27 mpg on the highway.

The Sportage has a very spacious interior, and the rear passengers have plenty of legroom. Cargo space is also ample and further space can be created by folding up the rear seats. The most important reasons why the 2005 - 2007 Kia Sportage have been chosen the best used compact SUV are:
  • Extremely suitable for daily commuting,
  • Easy handling and driving comfort,
  • Quality performance and
  • Value for money.
If you are looking for quality used cars at low prices, please visit the online dealership of Gatorland Kia, leading dealer selling new Kia and used cars in Gainesville, to learn more about the Kia Sportage and other used cars.

There is no end to savings when you buy a Kia car!

2009 Kia Spectra - New Car Dealer GainesvilleIt is well known that the most affordable new cars are more often than not from the Kia brand. Kia also offers excellent value in the pre-owned segment due to their low pricing and surprisingly high quality levels compared to similar low cost vehicles. In this segment, the best savings are seen in the compact to mid-size segments. This is because Kia is yet to be the leader in the pre-owned car market thus leaving plenty of excellent vehicles available at giveaway prices.

Let us take an example - 2009 Kia Spectra vis-a-vis 2006 Kia Spectra. The 2009 Kia Spectra, at $14,200, is a sedan that offers excellent fuel economy of 32 miles per gallon on the highway and is fitted with a 2.0 liter, 138 horsepower, 4-cylinder engine. The 2006 Kia Spectra uses the same engine and platform of the newer model and has a similar exterior appearance. The primary difference is to be found in price. The 2006 Spectra is available for less than $10,000. This is a good deal lesser than the cost of a new base Spectra, not forgetting the additional amount buyers would have to pay to get the extra features of the model, which are already available in the pre-owned vehicle. These include power windows and door locks as well as features like certain accessories and air conditioning.

Gatorland Kia has an excellent inventory of not just new but used Kia vehicles at our online dealership, where you can also schedule a service appointment or browse our virtual showroom.

Take a Look at Kia's History

Sunday, September 20, 2009

Kia started as a producer of steel tubing and bicycle parts in 1944. By the early 1950s, Kia had produced Korea's first bicycle. Gradually the brand started manufacturing motor scooters, motorcycles and three-wheeled cargo vehicles. The company decided to get into automobile manufacturing in the early 1970s and built a facility in 1973. A year later, Kia unveiled the Brisa, Korea's first passenger car. By 1980, Kia's technology was being used to manufacture vehicles like the Peugeot 604 and the Fiat 132.

Kia started growing phenomenally in 1980s. By the end of the decade, Kia's lineup included new models like the Concord, Capital, Potentia and Pride. Ford brought the Pride to the U.S. as the Ford Festiva in 1987. A few years later, Ford also imported Kia's Avella and marketed in North America as the Ford Aspire.

Kia started selling vehicles in the U.S. under its own brand in the early 1990s with the Sephia. In 1992, Kia Motors America was incorporated in the United States. A few years later the United States line expanded with the addition of the Sportage. Kia's American journey became a huge success and by the end of the 1990s, Kia's lineup was complete nationwide, with dealerships in almost every state.

Kia has introduced several new models and now has something to offer virtually every budget-minded buyer in the U.S. market today. The company's new vehicles are generally priced below competing models and represent a very good value when taking into consideration their high feature content and substantial warranty coverage. It has been on an upswing since its purchase by Hyundai, with improvements in build quality and overall refinement.

Gatorland Kia, a leading dealership for Kia vehicles in Gainesville is proud to be an authorized Kia dealership in Florida. The dealership stocks, sells and services all models of Kia including Amanti, Optima, Rio, Rio5, Rondo, Soul, Spectra, Spectra5, Borrego, Sedona, Sorento, Sportage.
